• Drive AppData Scope (https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.appdata): This scope allows the app to store and sync your Secure Private Folder metadata (such as your hashed PIN, encryption salts, and an encrypted file index) in a hidden, app-specific folder within your Google Drive account. This data is invisible to users and other apps, used strictly for restoring access to your private folder across devices or after reinstallations.
• Drive File Scope (https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.file): This scope grants the app permission to create and manage specific files on your Google Drive. This is used solely if you explicitly choose to export your 24-character Recovery Code as a readable text file for your own safekeeping. The app only has access to files it creates.

Additional Commitments regarding Google User Data:

• Purpose: Google Drive access is used solely to ensure you can recover your hidden private folder files if you forget your PIN or transition to a new device.
• No Third-Party Sharing: We do not share, sell, or transfer your Google Drive data or Private Folder metadata to any third-party servers, services, or companies. All sync operations occur directly between your device and Google Drive.
• No AI Usage: Your data is not used to develop, improve, or train generalized AI or machine learning models.

Security

For the Secure Private Folder, we use **Advanced AES-GCM encryption** to physically lock your files.
