Please read the following terms carefully before using the Private Folder feature in HD Video player:

1. File Restoration Paths

Due to Android's Scoped Storage privacy restrictions, files revealed from the private folder will be restored to the system's default media directories (e.g., the 'Movies', 'Pictures', or 'Audio' folders) rather than their exact original sub-folder locations.

2. Heavy File Decryption Risks

Encrypting and decrypting very large files (e.g., videos larger than 1 GB) requires significant system resources. In rare cases, decryption of heavy files may fail due to unexpected Out Of Memory (OOM) errors from the Android system. By using the private folder for heavy files, you accept this risk. The company is not liable for any data loss that occurs due to such system-level resource constraints.

3. Data Corruption Risk

The encryption and decryption process relies on the Android file system. While rare, it is possible for a file to become corrupted during the decryption (reveal) process. If a decrypted file becomes corrupted, the company is not liable for the resulting data loss.

4. Zero-Knowledge Security

The Private Folder operates on a 'Zero-Knowledge' security model. This means that your files are encrypted locally on your device using keys derived strictly from your personal PIN. UpsideDownTech possesses no master key, has no access to your PIN, and cannot view or unlock your encrypted content under any circumstances.

5. Permanent Access Loss

Because of our strict security model, if you forget your PIN and lose your 24-character Recovery Key, your files will be mathematically locked and permanently unrecoverable. It is your sole responsibility to safeguard your PIN and ensure your Recovery Key is backed up (via Google Drive or physical copy).

6. Cloud Integration & Metadata

To provide a privacy 'safety net,' the app can securely back up your Recovery Key and encrypted file index (metadata) to a private folder on your Google Drive. We do NOT upload or sync your actual media files to our servers; they remain stored only on your device.

7. Liability

The private folder is provided 'as is' without warranties of any kind. You are solely responsible for managing your PIN and deciding which files to encrypt. The company shall not be held liable for any direct or indirect damages, data loss, or system instability arising from the use of the private folder.
